EasyRides allows for simple and convenient car sharing. Rent a car from someone near you using the fast, efficient and hassle-free platform. If you are a car owner, let your car work for you by getting paid for listing and renting it out.

The web platform provides a central place where car owners and rental seekers can connect, transact and pay safely and securely, with the bonus of saving up to 40%, compared to traditional car rental companies.

The platform started out as a concept which Elemental brought to life, through information gathering sessions, competitor research and designing wireframes to map out the platform's flow, screens, processes and functionality.

Vibrant and slick UI designs were applied to the wireframes, providing the users of the platform an intuitive User eXperience (UX) with clear calls to actions and various sets of information for both renters and car owners. This all tying in nicely with the client's branding and colour scheme.

List your ride, make money!

For many people their car is their baby and therefore renting it out comes with some hesitancy. EasyRides acknowledged this and provided information about the entire process with assurances, as well as clever calculators that predict what you could earn by renting your car out.

Clear and easy to use screens allow the renter to register and list their car(s). We designed and built a User Zone so that renters can manage their cars, their availability and also their bookings.

Reporting dashboards provides renters with various financial insights as to how much money their cars have made them. How cool is that?

Notifications and a messaging system are also available to renters to keep them informed of their bookings, updates, payments and reviews. All these tools empower the renters with valuable insights and allow them to run their businesses efficiently regardless of where they are.

Renting a vehicle is super easy on EasyRides, with only a few quick steps required to find your ideal ride.

Starting off we allow the user to enter their location and preferred rental dates. More advanced search and filtering tools to refine what you're looking for, such as price range, type of car, transmission and even specific make and model of car.

Next we present the user with listing of cars best suited to their requirements, each with price, rating and other details shown to the user.

When viewing a single car, more specific information is provided about the car's specifications, mileage limits and how the rental process works.

The user can then proceed with the booking process. The renter chooses how long they wish to book the vehicle for and request a booking from the owner. The owner is then notified of a potential booking and is able to cancel or accept the booking. If the owner accepts the booking, a payment link is then sent to the renter, where they can then make payment, completing the booking.

Once the car has been returned and the transaction has been concluded the renter can submit a rating and review of the car and owner, which provides future users with insights, when wanting to make a booking.

Finally a full on management portal was developed to enable EasyRides to view and manage all transactions and data of the web application, comprising of detailed dashboards, management systems and reporting tools.

A specific feature about Easy Rides was the ability for the platform to determine the price of the vehicle, as this was used in calculating the deposit amount for the vehicle when rented out.

In order to get the accurate retail price, we had to perform an integration with TransUnion's API. This meant two systems speaking to each other, exchanging data and storing this data for future use.

WE LOVE A GOOD CHALLENGE

Part of the platform that is vital to the end consumer is ensuring that the pricing that they are paying to rent out their vehicle is fair. As vehicle prices change and the value depreciates over time, we felt it would be best to automate this process. We integrated with a third party platform that would provide us with realtime values of vehicles, which would be used in all sorts of areas and calculations. Developing this automated approach meant less admin was needed and reduced the risk for human error, while still maintaining price accuracy.
