Positioned to compete with international car rental giants, they embraced a franchise model and rapidly expanded to over 10 branches nationwide, offering an impressive fleet for both short and long-term rentals.

Recognising the critical role of a strong online presence in standing out in a competitive market, Apex set out to create an engaging website that would support seamless bookings and secure payments. They turned to Elemental to design and develop this website.

Booking a rental is simple and secure with Apex’s new system. The process guides users step-by-step—first choosing rental dates, vehicles, and extras, then entering personal details, and finally confirming the booking.

The design of the booking form matches Apex’s professional style, helping users feel confident while making reservations. We also added a live summary box that updates instantly whenever changes are made, so users always know exactly what they’re booking. This makes the whole experience smoother and more transparent.

Branch Locator Tool

Finding Apex’s 16 branches across South Africa has never been easier. The website features a Branch Locator Tool powered by Google Maps, allowing users to zoom, pan within the map, and click on any branch to see more details. To match Apex’s look and feel, we customised the map’s design. The search bar, province filter, branch list, and location pins (marked with an “”A”” for Apex) were all styled to reflect their branding, making it visually appealing and easy to use.

While the project was an exciting opportunity, it also called for creative problem-solving to achieve its goals.

Customising the Plugins: One of the main obstacles was ensuring the third-party plugins, especially the booking system and map locator, integrated perfectly with the site’s design. These plugins needed extensive customisation to match branding and meet the site’s functional requirements.

Multi-step booking process: With a multi-step booking process, it was essential to ensure that the user experience remained smooth and intuitive, even as users navigated through multiple pages. Balancing design with functionality was key.

Payment Gateway Integration: To create a smooth payment experience, we focused on ensuring the payment gateway worked seamlessly with minimal redirects, providing users with a secure and easy way to pay online.
