In the hospitality business, a website is so much more than a mere online presence. It is a key tool which resorts like Hamanasi use to promote their establishment, packages, tours, etc. which the goal of generating reservations and enquiries.
Hamanasi was in need of a new, magnificent website to portray their award winning eco-resort to the world.
The website needed to encompass many facets of the resort, giving visitors an in-depth understanding of the various accommodation options, packages and adventures. This rich information ultimately sells the resort, coupled with a seamless reservation system, the website acts as a marketing and sales channel.
In the hospitality industry a website is a key tool
The Hamanasi site had been designed and conceptualised by a Cape Town based design agency. Elemental was brought in as the development team to work hand in hand with this agency to understand the scope of work and review the creative designs.
Working with the client remotely, we scoped out all the website's features, functional, hosting and technical requirements, thus having a clear understanding of what our deliverables were for the project.
A key requirement from the client was that the site had to be created in Wordpress, more specifically a custom theme needed to be developed on the Genesis framework, from the provided creative files.
Combining the creative with technology
Building a site of this size and nature takes planning to ensure the right approach and technology is used. We created a custom Wordpress theme on the genesis framework, which provided a solid base and allowed for scalability in the future.
Due to the size of the site and the vast amount of content-heavy pages, it was imperative to provide the client with a Content Management System (CMS). The CMS enables the client to easily manage various content element through an easy to use interface.
Other features that were developed include reservation forms, integration of 360-degree videos of the accommodation suites, a creation of content-heavy pages, image galleries, online chat integration, a guest book and a Blog where Hamanasi can provide readers with updated information about the resort, adventures, sustainability and surroundings.

Hamanasi's new website is packed with various features, beautiful visuals and online tools that streamline bookings. Their new online presence makes the resort irresistible to potential customers, who have all the information at their fingertips to get a real understanding of what they can experience by staying at Hamanasi's award-winning eco-resort.
To this day the website is continually supported and maintained, with new features and improvements being constantly added to further enhance the resort's online presence. Providing potential customers with rich information and tools to explore this resort online.

By rebuilding the website in Elementor, a popular WordPress theme builder, we made it much easier and more streamlined for the Hamanasi team to manage and upload content, giving them the freedom to keep their website up-to-date with relevant information and promotions, even if they're not super tech-savvy! By making it possible for them to more easily manage content, they are improving their organic SEO and reaching their target audience.
WE LOVE A GOOD CHALLENGE
We rebuilt the Hamanasi website in Elementor, a user-friendly theme builder for WordPress but we had no clue what the developers before us had done. It was a challenge to pick up the pieces from where Hamanasi's old development left off and we pulled it off with no proper documentation!
