Savills’ Quest for a Seamless Research Experience
Savills Investment Management is a global real estate investment management firm recognised for its extensive research and in-depth insights into the European property market. Their team conducts rigorous analysis across various metrics to understand the investment appeal of major European cities, guiding clients in identifying high-growth markets.
The aim of this project was to convert this research into a digital format, organizing insights across six critical categories—Innovation, Inspiration, Inclusion, Interconnection, Investment, and Infrastructure. Each category highlights a unique dimension of urban investment potential, from economic vitality and technological advancement to connectivity and community inclusion. This segmentation allows investors to easily interpret and interact with the data in a structured, meaningful way.
Savills wanted a custom-built web application that would not only display this segmented data but also allow users to explore and compare cities based on real-time insights. The platform needed to balance powerful functionality with an accessible, user-friendly experience, enabling users to access complex data intuitively. To bring Savills’ vision to life, we developed a cutting-edge, data-driven web application tailored to showcase their research findings in a dynamic, engaging format. We approached the development with two primary focuses: robust data integration and exceptional user experience. By aggregating data from the research teams, we built a tool that presents a comprehensive view of Europe’s top cities, covering essential metrics from economic performance to real estate trends.
To enhance versatility in data interpretation, users can view insights in multiple formats: either through branded Google Maps that visually represent city metrics or through organised and structured listings of cities for straightforward comparisons.

A key challenge in this project was developing a robust CMS capable of handling the extensive research data Savills needed to store, update, and present in the web app. With segmented data across six categories and multiple cities, the CMS required exceptional flexibility and precision to load, process, and display datasets in real time without disruption.
Our team dedicated significant effort to refining the CMS, ensuring that Savills could easily manage updates and keep the application current. To further enhance reliability, we implemented strong data validation functionality within the CMS, applying rigorous checks to confirm each data entry was formatted and structured accurately. This validation process minimised errors, safeguarded data integrity, and provided Savills with the confidence to manage large datasets seamlessly—delivering reliable, accurate insights to users with every update.
