There are various user roles which each play a vital role in the process of capturing times. The timesheet has complex functionality to ensure data is always captured accurately - for example:

-check if times overlap
-check if hours captured make sense
-check if too much overtime was was captured
-warns users if changing the shift for a day that already has data captured
-warns users if changing the employee for the given week.

The system also show the total hours captured and the charges that it amounts to.

CHALLENGES

When it comes to staffing, we needed to create the web app to be as flexible and robust as possible to cater for all the different scenarios that happen in the real world.

A complex challenge for us was to incorporate how overtime, night shifts and public holiday rules would apply to captured timesheets and to the accurate calculation of costs and leave.

Luckily this wasn’t our first rodeo and through trial and error, we were able to get this to work to the client’s exact expectations.
